I ran a half marathon ONCE and hated it....so I swore i'd never run another one ever again. I guess that didn't include full marathons. My dad, Dr. G, LOVED to run marathons. He was known for his stamina and crazy love for long races. In honor of my father I am running my first full marathon because I want to keep his legacy alive. After his unexpected passing on May 26th 2018, I had many people reach out to me sharing stories of how he helped many children, adults and even animals, as a psychologist, mentor, and friend. He also made the ultimate gift to science and research by donating his brain. We hope he will be able to help the world understand more about Alzheimer's and Parkinson's Disease.
In honor of my father and my old rescue, Josh, who recently joined my dad, I am proudly raising money for Keno's Animal Sanctuary. They are a local group that does so much for ALL animals, not just dogs and cats, but also raccoons and wildlife! My father spent many years researching the bond we have with our pets, advocating for animal rights, rehabilitaing abused dogs, and even feeding the stray raccoons! Keno's sanctuary does not discriminate when it comes to helping animals and that is a mentality my father always beleived in, whether you were human or a furry friend. Please support me in my quest to complete my first (and only) marathon for my father, and donate! No amount is too small #Run4DrG
