Dr. Patricia Berg Selected as 2016 AAAS Fellow for Contributions in Biological Sciences
January 05, 2017
Dr. Patricia Berg, Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine, directs a breast cancer research laboratory at George Washington University. In 2016, she was selected as an AAAS Fellow for her contributions in Biological Sciences, an honor bestowed by her peers in the scientific community.
Her research led to the discovery of the gene, BP1 (Human Beta Protein 1), which is activated in 80% of women with breast cancer and 70% of men with prostate cancer. Dr. Berg is on the verge of a critical breakthrough: a blood test for the BP1 gene activation.
With your support, the blood test can lead to early detection of cancer and potentially save lives. Donations of all sizes are welcome.
For more details about her research and career, please see Dr. Berg's CV.
Thank you for your support, and please share this fundraiser with your family, friends, and organizations!
