Hi folks! Last year, fate designed that a few of us joined Katie's Krew, the dragonboat racing team in the Philadelphia Dragonboat Festival racing for Katie's Krusaders. (http://www.katieskrusaders.com).
Katie's Krusaders is a charity-based organization with a great mission: to raise our community's, and ultimately the nation's, awareness of the incidence of cancer in children, as well as to support the Ronald McDonald House at St. Christopher's Hospital in Philadelphia. Katie's Krusaders also assists Camp Can-Do (a Philadelphia-area summer camp for children with cancer and their families), headed up by our very own team captain, Tom Prader. (http://campcandoforever.com)
Here's where you come in: The races are October 4th. That's not a lot of time to raise money, but we're hoping to raise enough to pay for our entry fee (which has been generously covered by Katie's Krusaders), and beyond. Every cent raised over our entry fee will be directly supporting Katie's Krusaders and will benefit the efforts of St. Christopher's Hospital, and send a few kids to Camp Can Do this upcoming summer.
**Note: If you donated last year and did not receive your thank-you poster, PLEASE email Amy at firstname.lastname@example.org and she'll get one out in the mail to you immediately. We had some mailing issues. Thanks for being patient.
If you have any further questions, please contact co-captain Amy at amyhouser.@gmail.com. Cheers!
