Dr. Dan O'Neill had a passion to serve the American Indian children of Montana. He was crucial in recruiting and educating his fellow dentists of the need for specialized dental services on Montana's reservations. Over 600 children of the Ft. Peck Reservation in northeastern Montana have been identified as high-risk dental cases, with multiple caries and many needing dental surgeries.

Dr. Todd Steinmetz answered this call-to-action in May 2014, unfortunately just as Dr. O'Neill passed away from a long battle with cancer. Dr. Todd picked up the baton of Dr. O'Neill's heart-project and travelled to Ft. Peck with his team who performed over 50 specialized dental services including x-rays, exams, crowns, and restorations. He has also performed in-hospital surgeries in Bozeman for children too young to be a part of the in-school dental programs. Dr. Todd and his staff are committed to serving every deserving child at Ft. Peck and other reservations in Montana.

What we are raising money for is for travel and supply expenses related to the mobile Free Dental Health Weeks for September 2014, January 2015 and May 2015. Mobile dental units are set up in empty classrooms and buildings in the schools at Ft. Peck in order to serve as many children as possible. As transportation and access to qualified dental specialists are limited, the services are brought to the patient! Each mobile dental unit is set up with all the supplies needed for restorations, cleaning, extractions and exams.

Please help us to continue Dr. O'Neill's vision in creating smiles for all deserving children across Montana!
