In 1975, nine women made history as they became the first female athletes to oficially run the Boston Marathon. Last year, 14,632 women competed in the world's greatest marathon.
On April 20th, Amber, Dawn and Tara will achieve every runner's dream as we cross the finish line in Boston. We want all girls to have the opportunity to acheive their athletic dreams, regardless of income status.
Imagine trying to run the Boston Marathon without running shoes. Every day a girl in need steps on the playing field, court or track without the proper equipment or training.
Dream Big! works to provide girls from low-income and homeless situations with the equipment, uniforms and program fees they need to participate in sports.
Please join us and the rest of the Dream Big! Marathon team as we help raise money for the next generation of Boston Marathon Runners. All girls deserve the opportunity to gain confidence, self-esteem and positive body image through their participation in athletics.
In training to run the Boston Marathon, each of us will log over 500 miles. Our goal is to be able to raise one dollar for every mile we ran in training. You can help us by “sponsoring” one (or two or three) of our runs!
Speed day + easy day : 10 miles = $10
Tempo Run: 15 miles = $15
Long Run: 20 miles = $20
Marathon Day: 26.2 miles = $26.20
Weekly Mileage: 50 miles = $50
Monthly Mileage = 150-200 miles = $150-$200
Thank you so much for contributing to this important cause!
Tara, Dawn, and Amber
