Dreams to Acts: Nicaragua 2016 (Dreana's Early Bird Fund)
Organized by: Dreana Ferguson
In November 2015, I was incredibly honored to join Random Acts on their journey to Nicaragua. While there, we helped with construction of a new campus for the Free High School of San Juan del Sur, visited with the Barrio Planta Project, and built/installed EcoStoves and BioSand water filters in a rural community. I fell in love with the people we worked with, the organizations we partnered with, and the country itself.
In 2016, Random Acts will be returning to Nicaragua. I am asking for your help in fundraising so that I can return with them. Once the official Dreams to Acts: Nicaragua 2016 campaign begins, the first 25 people to fundraise $5,000 for the campaign will be invited to join Random Acts in Nicaragua. I am beginning my fundraising early so that I have a better chance of joining the team again.
Please help me to return to Nicaragua in 2016 and finish what I started.
Thanks for reading! Your support is so very appreciated.
Wait, so where is my money going?
Great question! After donating through this page, your money is transferred to a savings account I have set up specifically for D2A 2016 donations. It stays there, completely untouched, until Random Acts begins their official campaign. For 2015, this started in March. At that point, I will remove all of the money from that savings account and donate it to the official campaign. The account will then be closed.
Why are you fundraising early?
I would REALLY like to be able to return to Nicaragua to help in person again, because this project is so important to me. Once Random Acts begins the official fundraising campaign for 2016, only the first 25 people to fundraise $5,000 (and one raffle winner) will be able to join them in Nicaragua. I'm starting early so that I can up my odds of being in that first 25 again.
What are y'all doing? I need more information...
Absolutely! I blogged about my trip here, and I'll share information about the 2016 trip as it becomes available. In the mean time, you can hop on over to nicaragua.randomacts.org to learn more about the 2015 campaign. Or, for a more personal touch, you can check out my YouTube videos about the trip at https://youtu.be/iYdU08aKyyE and https://youtu.be/f4boZj9qWBU
I'd love to help, but I don't have money right now // I'd feel more comfortable waiting and donating straight to Random Acts
That's completely understandable! If you'd like to stay up to date with the campaign, you can like my fundraising page at https://www.facebook.com/helpbuildaschool I'll post updates there and be sure to let you know when the 2016 campaign officially kicks off. Liking the page is also the best way to learn when I'm doing new events and promotions to fundraise.
