Dress Shirts for Dudes

Cedar Lane is a school for disadvantaged students. Many of the kids come from families with few resources. The girls have a program to fund their dress purchases for the Prom, but there was nothing in place for the boys until now. Many of these boys do not own a single dress shirt.
We plan on using the funds from this project to purchase a dress shirt for every boy who attends the Prom. We also think that these kids will also benefit from having a dress shirt if they need to interview for a job, or attend an event where dress shirts are appropriate attire. We think this is a simple, productive way to boost a teen's confidence and provide them with a gift that will be useful now and in the future.
In the spirit of going green and utilizing our resources thriftily, we plan on purchasing the shirts from consignment and second-life stores. The kids will sign up and provide their size (or get measured if they do not know it) and preferred color and the shirts will be purchased, laundered, and delivered to the school before the Prom on May 1.
If we are so fortunate as to exceed our fundraising goals for this project, we will roll over the extra donations to continue to fund the project in future years.
