BENEFITING: BUMI SEHAT FOUNDATION INTERNATIONAL INC
EVENT DATE: Apr 20, 2014
I am a lucky woman. I know it. I have three healthy children, a thriving medical practice, and a supportive husband and family. I am grateful each and every day.
I turned 40 last year and promised myself that I would take time to "give back." I have recently been presented with an unique opportunity to travel to Bali, Indonesia to work at the Bumi Sehat Foundation, a clinic serving women and children. I will be traveling for 10 days by myself (which I haven't done in decades!) to volunteer at Bumi Sehat. I was also invited to speak at the Green School, a revolutionary project aimed at promoting educational sustainability. While my trip is short, I hope to come back feeling even more fulfilled than I am on a daily basis and to be able to provide my kids (and yours) that much more.
Since 1995, the Bumi Sehat Foundation has been providing free pre- and post-natal care for women and children through two health centers in Indonesia. Each year the mid-wives of Bumi Sehat welcome nearly 500 newborns into the world and provide over 17,000 health care consultations. This remarkable organization is dedicated to decreasing mother and child morbidity and mortality rates, and to providing effective support for health and community development.
Please support me in helping those less fortunate than us. No donation is too small. All money raised will go to the Bumi Sehet Foundation. Thank you for your continued support.
