THE STORY:

We are a group of high school students who have been provided with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to visit Uganda and Rwanda this summer in conjunction with  the Denver School of Science and Technology (DSST) and the Global Livingston Institute. The seniors on the trip are currently participating in an intensive entrepreneurship course, while the juniors have participated in an introduction to entrepreneurship via the startup weekend. As a result, we have begun to appreciate that at its core, entrepreneurship is about identifying and solving problems in the world. During the trip to East Africa, we will have the opportunity to work with and advise social entrepreneurship focused companies. Not only will we gain a better understanding of how entrepreneurs solve problems and create impact in the developing world, we will also develop a greater sense of self and the role that we can and must play in the world. Through this opportunity, we will further develop our capacity to become agents of change in our own community.

We are incredibly grateful for this opportunity; not only will we have the chance to work with social entrepreneurs in Uganda and Rwanda using the skills we have acquired at DSST, but we will also explore the rich culture of Africa. However, we need your support. As a group, we are trying to raise $7,000 before June 2015 to help pay for our travel, food, lodging, and other expenses during our trip. Will you consider supporting us in traveling to East Africa?

What is in it for you...?

-You are a partner with us in our learning experience by supporting our group.
-You have an opportunity to be a part of our group by contributing to our success.
-You are supporting the leaders of tomorrow.
-You will receive a group picture and an invitation to a reception at DSST, tentatively planned for August 2015, where we will share photos, videos, and stories of our experiences in East Africa.

Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to communicate with you regarding this life changing opportunity.

We are thrilled to have this chance to learn so much about how we can affect change in the world and we couldn’t do this without your support.
