Dear Loras Community at home and away,
Your generosity and kindness has allowed our friendship to flourish over the years. You have helped us shape our identities and weave our dreams and for that we are forever grateful. Today, as you pour your thoughts and prayers upon us in these trying times, we are once again humbled by your love for this country and its people.
In the aftermath of the deadly earthquake of April 25 the nation struggles to rise from the rubbles. The loss of lives shakes our core. People have seen their homes crumble and loved ones taken away right before their eyes. The rescuers are digging through bricks and concrete for any signs of life and the injured are wailing for help. The survivors are without electricity, lacking water and food, and dreading the aftershocks. The nation’s history is now buried under the collapsed monuments and temples. While there is no good time for a tragedy like this, it has come at a time when the nation already suffers political deadlocks and extreme economic crisis. However strong our will may be, we could not stand back up without support.
It is in this light that we ask for your help. It is our hope that you will support us in the long standing Loras spirit of charity and service. All funds collected will directly go to Red Cross Society, one of the primary organizations working on the grounds to serve immediate needs.
We have a long road ahead of us and it will take years to rebuild the nation and heal the spirits.Your generosity and collective energy will be invaluable in lifting up a stricken nation!
