David Barrett is the Director of Portfolio Management for CapitalMark Bank & Trust. He joined the Chattanooga-based bank in 2010 to review risk management of the bank’s credit portfolio, contracts and vendor management. Prior to joining CapitalMark, David worked in commercial & industrial and non-profit risk management at a large regional bank for 9 years.
When not banking, David serves on the Board of Directors for Northside Neighborhood House offering a hand-up to others through direct assistance, educational programs and work force preparation. David especially loves mentoring and helping after-school care students with their homework. Additionally, David serves on the advisory board of the Fortwood Center and has past involvement with YoungLife of Northwest Georgia and fundraising with Siskin Children’s Institute.
Outside of managing risk and saving the community one child at a time, David enjoys traveling, brewing his own beer and spending time with his beautiful wife Apryl. After assessing the proposed contract and potential risk involved with a dunk tank at downtown’s Miller Plaza during lunchtime, David determined that being publically submerged was for a worthy cause, especially if he reaches his $2,000 fundraising goal!
Donations to David support the Northside Neighborhood House.
