CHATTANOOGA FRIENDS wrote -When Donnie helped form HHM in 1981, he became one of the youngest CPAs in the region to make partner. Today – in addition to overseeing the firm’s day-to-day operations as managing partner – Donnie works in Management Advisory Services, primarily focusing on mergers and acquisitions. Above all, his first priority is meeting each client’s needs.
“The clients know if they need me at 8 p.m., we’re going to talk,” he says. “I’m always striving to create that ‘wow’ factor.”
Early in his career Donnie played a crucial role in building HHM’s dealership niche. Today, he has helped orchestrate more than 100 sales, acquisitions and/or mergers for a variety of industries, including manufacturing and distribution.
“I enjoy the challenge of it,” he says. “An acquisition is a challenging yet special event in the life of a company that I like to participate in.”
This approach is also reflected in his personal life, whether it’s tackling a hill on his road bike, serving on the board of a nonprofit or restoring his 1920’s Missionary Ridge home with his wife, Lisa. (Donnie was also instrumental in the Freight Depot restoration in 2005.)
However, when it’s time to unwind, he enjoys downtime with his family – preferably on a white sand beach in the Caribbean.
