BENEFITING: Vancouver Fire Fighters’ Charitable Society
EVENT: First Cause Ride
EVENT DATE: Aug 20, 2016
Hi! Thank you for visiting my fundraising page for The First Cause Ride.
PTSD is a cause that is ever-growing within the realm of first responders. It is something that definitely needs more light and more attention to aid those who, unfortunately, suffer from the disorder. By participating in this ride, I hope to achieve just that. With your donations, first responders will have faster access to a PTSD- Mental Illness program specifically designed for First Responders in BC.
Involvement in the fire services exposes fellow members and I to situations that are often difficult to cope with. Having the resources and facilities to receive proper therapy and coping methods is an essential component in keeping your first responders responding.
Thank-you in advance for your donations and support for the people who help you during the toughest hours or days of your life.
The First Cause Ride is a PTSD and Occupational Stress Injuries cycling ride/fundraiser aimed at uniting civilians and BC's First Responder agencies (Police, Fire, Ambulance, Medical, Sheriffs, Border Services, etc.) working together to raise funds to start an online early recognition, support and treatment program that is tailor made for First Responders and their families. Our mission: To activate 150 cyclists to fundraise $100,000 and ride on August 20, 2016. We have three distances making this ride accessible for anyone; The “Rookie Ride” which is 32 KM, The “Summit Challenge“ at 83 KM and The “Elite Ride“ totalling 140 KM. Only through your assistance will this goal be possible, so please click the donate button in the top right! ——>
