BENEFITING: EDUCATORS FOR EXCELLENCE
ORGANIZER: EDUCATORS FOR EXCELLENCE
I was drawn to E4E because of its emphasis on teacher voice. Too often, people outside the classroom are making decisions about education without the input of teachers and schools. As a member of the 2015 E4E-Los Angeles policy team on Common Core, I have met with teachers from across the LA region to develop, draft, and polish recommendations for effective Common Core implementation in our state. Through focus groups and lunch meetings sponsored by E4E, I have been given a platform to learn from different education stakeholders-students, parents, teachers, administrators, and union leaders-about what messaging and tools we need to prepare schools to push for deeper learning. On May 28th, I will be speaking at the launch of our policy paper so we can begin to share out and advocate for our recommendations.
Working within the E4E community of teachers allows me to seek solutions and positive outcomes for our students, but never by myself. I look forward to meeting more teachers and working with them through this great organization.
Thank you so much for your fundraising support!

Each May, Educators 4 Excellence (E4E) honors the hard work of hundreds of teachers across the country by turning the nationally celebrated Teacher Appreciation Week into a month long celebration. We believe a week is not enough to recognize the hard work, dedication, accomplishments and leadership of teachers.
This May, #ThankaTeacher by donating to E4E. Your donation will support the leadership development and impact of teachers in Los Angeles by defraying the costs of grassroots organizing efforts, Teacher Leadership Program trainings, publishing Teacher Policy Team white papers, and supporting teacher advocacy of policies that are good for students.
