Eagle Squadron Memorial
Organized by: Timothy Anderson
On 8 July 2016, Once An Eagle, a non-profit organization out of Seymour Johnson AFB, is dedicating a memorial to the brave pilots that volunteered in World War II. Most of these American volunteers paid the ultimate sacrifice to fight for freedom. This memorial will be located in front of the 334th Fighter Squadron. It will allow present and future students, squadron members and visitors of the 334th Fighter Squadron to appreciate the squadron's proud heritage. The purpose of this memorial is to educate both the squadron and the public at large about the squadron's accomplishments. The students of the 334th Fighter Squadron stand in a long line of 4th Fighter Wing veterans reaching back to the Battle of Britain; a rich heritage of veterans from the Eagle Squadrons, World War II, Korea, Vietnam and the wars in the Middle East. Once An Eagle is not an official Air Force entity and is not in any way related to the Department of Defense. Any donations you provide are solely for Once An Eagle and not for the base or any official part of the Air Force. We do not receive support from and are not an official part of the Air Force or Seymour Johnson Air Force Base. All contributions are tax deductible.
