BENEFITING: Lewis & Clark College
**please note** Crowdrise will add an additional 5% to your donation to subsidize processing fees UNLESS you click on the "optional processing fee" link in orange on the second donation page and change the percentage to 0%. For what it's worth, Earthrise is already paying processing fees to Crowdrise and Network for Good. We just wanted to warn you in case you didn't notice and end up with a higher charge than you anticipated! It's easy and obvious to reset the amount to 0%, so go ahead and click donate!
TAKING A STAND FOR THE ENVIRONMENT
Why give to Earthrise?
From its offices in Portland, Oregon, and Boston, Massachusetts, Earthrise
fights for clean air and water. We fight to protect natural places and the amazing creatures that call them home. We use the law and the courtroom as our tools, and we train new generations of environmental advocates to do the same
We rely on the generosity of individuals, foundations and local businesses to help us deliver excellent legal services to clients. Your contributions are critical to sustaining Earthrise and its commitment to protect the natural resources of the nation and beyond.
What are Earthise's crowning achievements?
We've been working behind the scenes to give legal power to the causes you care about for years. We scored some major successes this year. Here are some highlights:
Secured a major legal victory protecting citizens' rights to participate in important land use planning decisions, including in sensitive areas like Mt. Hood.
Took legal action to protect endangered California condors from lead poisoning caused by spent ammunition in the Kaibab National Forest in Arizona.
Launched a multi-state campaign to strengthen water quality standards and protect the fish, wildlife, and communities that depend on clean water.
Scored an early victory in a case to protect the Santa Clara River--the last free-flowing river remaining in southern California--from stormwater pollution.
Brought suit to prevent pollution of the Buffalo River in Arkansas--the country's first National River--from a 6,500 head industrial hog farm.
Joined ongoing litigation to reduce environmental and public health risks of long-term storage ofnuclear waste in Massachusetts.
Fought to protect the Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument and the nearby Green river from copper mining.
Your support helps us fight for the environment and win for everyone, today and into the future. Stand with us.
