BENEFITING: 2020 MOM
EVENT DATE: Apr 29, 2017
I am walking in conjunction with the March of Dimes Walk to bring awareness to this important issue. Untreated depression and anxiety during pregnancy is a leading cause of preterm birth. In addition, women who delivery preterm and/or have a baby in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) are at higher risk for MMH disorders.
Maternal Mental Health disorders affect 1 in 5 women. Postpartum depression is the most common complication of childbirth. Despite the prevalence, maternal depression goes largely undiagnosed and untreated. This fundraiser raises awareness for maternal mental health disorders, which include depression, multiple forms of anxiety and the more rare postpartum psychosis. Please join us in walking together and help us reach our goal!
The walk starts at 9am, please arrive at 8:30am so we can connect as a group! Bring your family!!
