East House is a private, non-profit rehabilitation agency serving individuals with persistent mental illness and/or chemical addictions with the goal of helping them to live independent and fulfilling lives.
Through a network of services, which includes supported housing and care coordination as well as education and employment programs, East House treats the whole person and helps to move individuals from illness to health. Since 1966, East House has been offering personalized care that meets each person's needs while advocating for the better understanding and acceptance of mental health and substance abuse issues in the community.
In 2012, more than 1,000 clients and families benefited from East House services that are provided by 130 employees. East House is funded by the NYS Offices of Mental Health, Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services; Monroe County; client fees; and donations. A sliding scale fee is available to ensure access to needed services.
