THE STORY:

For the fifth year, Sail-a-thon will be a part of the Harvest Moon Regatta® that takes place Oct 13-15.  Sail-a-thon is a fundraising event benefitting the Judy's Mission Ovarian Cancer Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to ending ovarian cancer through funding research and raising awareness.

Sail-a-thon honors the life and memory of Judy Robinson.  Judy was an avid sailor, boat owner and Harvest Moon Regatta® competitor.  She was a member of the HMR committee and a great supporter of the event.  In 2009, Judy was diagnosed with advanced stage ovarian cancer and died in 2010.

Since there is no test for early detection, awareness of the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer is key to improving survival rate.  When identified early, 93% of the women will survive beyond five years compared to the average survival rate of only 44%.  Help us save lives!
