Eco-Soap Bank is a humanitarian and environmental non-profit organization working to save, sanitize, and supply recycled hotel soap for the developing world.
Lack of access to soap remains a critical factor in fighting the spread of preventable diseases worldwide—in some developing countries, only 1% of households have access to soap. We employ economically disadvantaged women in cities across the developing world to collect and safely process used soap from hotels, sustainably diverting it from landfills.
We partner with more than 50 organizations to provide our recycled soap to schools, clinics, and communities, pairing each donation with a hygiene training program. We also teach soapmaking skills and provide our soap at low cost to women seeking to start their own small businesses.
Working since 2014, Eco-Soap Bank has recycled over 24,000 pounds of soap, made over 170,000 soap donations, and sustainably supplied over 650,000 people with soap and hygiene education.
