Dear Supporter,

Thank you for your wonderful gift to one of our runners who participated in the 116th Boston Marathon on April 16, 2012 as part of Team MDSC. Ten runners collectively raised over $72,000, which directly impacts all MDSC programs and services available to people with Down syndrome and their families.

Your support enables the MDSC to continue to be there for new and expectant families; educate health care professionals about Down syndrome and how to deliver a diagnosis; provide social and leadership development for teens and young adults with Down syndrome; equip educators with best practices and resources; and create and influence legislation affecting people with Down syndrome on the local and national level. We could not do this important work without people like you.

Thanks again for your kindhearted generosity and believing in our mission.

Warm regards,

Maureen Gallagher, M.S.

Hi Eddie!
Training has gone well. I peaked at around 72 miles and this week will taper to about 16. My left hip flexor has some stiffness, but it usually resolves about 2 to 3 miles into a run. I always feel nervous before a long run. There are so many hours and so much invested to perform for just over 3 hours. I really hope to run a 3:15 or under. So, Monday will reveal if training was good or not! Conditions can affect too, but hopefully there is nothing drastic going on Monday in Boston. Thanks for asking! ~Kristine

Stuff About Me:

Co-founded by musician and activist Peter Gabriel in 1992, WITNESS uses video to open the eyes of the world to human rights violations. WITNESS partners with organizations around the world to bring the power of video into their existing campaigns and advance human rights causes. Videos from these collaborations have helped shed light on the systemic repression of ethnic minorities in Burma, persecute recruiters of child soldiers in the Democratic Republic of Congo and pass the first law protecting elders from abuse in the US.
