BENEFITING: MONTCLAIR FREE PUBLIC LIBRARY FOUNDATION INC
EVENT DATE: Nov 04, 2012
Running a marathon has been on my list of things to do for some time. I ran my first two half marathons (thanks to training with Fleet Feet Montclair) in May 2011and 2012 and felt pretty good. I decided that I if could get into the New York City marathon I would train hard and felt the need to raise money for a worthy cause. I thought: how do I decide which worthy cause to run for when there are so many. I decided to run for the Montclair Public Library with the hope that the library will help lay the foundation for this generation and future generations to learn and apply their acquired knowledge to help find the cures for diseases that afflict so many of our families and friends.
It is my hope that as an orthodontist who has been privileged to work with so many wonderful patients and families over the past 26.2 years (26 is a recurrent theme) that I can rally some of them to this cause. It does not matter how much one gives; every little bit helps in a big way. I would be so happy if my patients donated 10 cents a mile ($2.60) to Montclair Public Library. $2.60 not only helps the library, but equally important helps children become aware of the importance of supporting worthy causes.
Please donate as generously as possible through this site or send your check to the Montclair Public Library Foundation and please forward my message to anyone you think might support my cause . I promise I will do all of the leg work to reach my goal of 26.2 miles at the New York City Marathon on November 4, 2012. My start time is 10:05 My Bib# is 33807. I will be starting in Green Wave#2 Corral #33, and you can track my progress with your smart phone.
Thanks for your support,
