Young journalists need to get real-world experience to be successful and marketable and the need for skilled, credible and committed professional journalists is growing as never before.
That’s why the MDDC Press Foundation’s Reese Cleghorn Internship Program exists…to provide real-world experience to engage young professional talent.
Each intern receives a stipend of $2,400 from the Foundation. Our most important source of funds to pay these students is from donors like you. Please help us build the future of journalism.
The internships are open to students who either go to school or live in Maryland, Delaware or DC, and each student is paired with a supervising mentor at an area news publication. Previous interns have worked at the Baltimore Sun, the Hagerstown Herald-Mail, The Daily Record, The Frederick News-Post and other media organizations. Over the past 16 years, 118 college students have served as interns through the program. They’re working as staff members, reporting, editing and working in multimedia while supported by experienced mentors over an 8-week summer internship.
