Friday, September 30, 2016 is my 4th annual Ride for Missing Children - Greater Capital District. I do this year after year because I have met the people who are left behind. The mothers, fathers, sisters and brothers of the missing have a hole in their lives that can never be filled. What I can give them is a small sense of hope by letting them know that "I will never stop looking for your missing child." I will be joining other cyclists to ride 100 miles through three Counties to help find missing kids. Along the route we stop at elementary schools where we will reinforce safety messages to the children. Family members of the missing join us for ceremonies on this day and I can tell you that no difficult or rainy day on my bike can compare to a day in the lives of these good people who are missing a loved one. Working to fulfill our mission helps them enormously. The mission of "The Ride" is to: · Spread awareness about the plight of all missing and exploited children Thousands go missing every year. Some never come home. · Remember all missing children The families need to know that their loved one has not been forgotten. I will never stop looking for their missing child. · Raise funds to support prevention education programs, poster distribution and the mission of the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. The National Center (NCMEC) has branch offices in New York State, including one in Saratoga, to support education programs in our area. Hundreds of missing children have been recovered as a result of targeted poster distributions by NCMEC. I have made a fund raising commitment and I need your help to meet my goal. All donations go to The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children-NY. Your contribution of any amount helps find missing kids nationwide. Please make a donation, any amount helps! Thank you!
