TRAVELING WITH A PURPOSE
September 15, 2017
My name is Michael Meurer. I am a political analyst and writer who started Reimagining Politics with a vision of a humane democratic world in which civic life is run by effective and informed citizens.
Our mission is to redefine civic education and the day-to-day practice of civic life by creating once in a lifetime educational experiences that teach, empower and connect engaged citizens across borders.
I have been traveling worldwide since August 2016 researching new civic and political initiatives that are changing the face of politics. With a small volunteer team who I pay as I can afford, we work in Latin America, Europe and the US with universities, civic organizations, NGO's and government agencies who want our one-of-a-kind civic training.
Reimagining Politics is absolutley unique! Our seminars are living civics labs that showcase new strategies and tools such as civic mapping; civic dinners; trafkintu community exchanges; civic hacking and toolkits to create the experience of real world change close to home for our students. This is how they become engaged, effective citizens of the future, and it is how we will rebuild civic life.
I have been largely self-funding for the past 18 months except for $3,450 in generous donations from friends who have donated here. Many universities are interested in our seminars, roundtables and lectures this year and next, but I need your help to continue my work.
Visit the Reimagining Politics website and see my online Journal to learn more about my work, to read my full bio and to find links to my latest articles, which have published this year in 9 countries and 5 languages.
I hope that you will donate on this page. And please share this project with others in your network and ask them to help too!
I welcome all questions, suggestions and comments. Thank you for your interest and your generosity.
