Global Border Studies

Global Border Studies You can help us to achieve our dreams to be good leaders who promote peace, equality and justice in Burma.

"Education is the most powerful weapons to change the world and only the solution to build peace.

Global Border Studies is located in Thia-Burma border, Nu Poe refugee camp and that train multi-ethic groups to be good leaders who promote peace, equality and justice in Burma.The GBS program was formed in 2010 by Karen Refugee Committee Education Entity (KRCEE) to prepare good leaders. They believe that education is the key to create peace and stable in our society.

GBS is three years program:

Year one: students study on the themes of understanding ethnicity and colonization of Africa, understanding ethnic conflict and introduction to social research skills

Year two: focus on the themes of conflict transformation and reconciliation, development education and sustainable developments and the environment.

Year three: the last year the students partake in an internship with an NGO or CBO to work with them for our society. .

Here is a short information from one of GBS students named A.

"My big dream is to be a good leader in my community." A said that BGS was one big step to reach his goal. GBS opens his eyes to see the world, open his heart to sympathy the other and open his mind to think critically. He has learned about leadership, community development, conflict reconciliation and peace building from GBS. He would like to see Burma without civil war and all ethnic groups live in peaceful and harmony life.

This is one of dreams among GBS students. We all have dreams that we are going back to Burma to make a change.
