Education and childcare for low income families

As a single mother of 2, I understand how exceptionally hard it is to find decent childcare. As if finding affordable housing isn't hard enough, we are faced with finding a place that will care for and educate our children in a safe and caring environment. When my son was born I had him in a home daycare, and I knew the woman that ran the facility for a few years prior to having my son. I was promised that they were going to do activities and painting and playdoh, learning and gardening all of the little fun things that little people love to do while building all of their little motor skills. My son didn't talk so he was not able to tell me the things going on behind the scenes, Well come to find out that I was paying an arm and a leg for my son to sit in front of the television eating all kinds of junk! Which I was highly against! I was wondering why art work and projects didn't come home. Anyway, I applied for state assistance and was able to get him into a childcare center. Even though I was getting some financial help I still couldn't afford the daycare, yes it was better than the home care center I had him in, he started talking, he was able to develop skills that were important to prepare for Pre-school, but unfortunately the "teachers" were not teachers at all, they were overworked and under paid, so half of them were not paying attention to children, children were running every which way, in wet pants, snot hanging down their little noses, etc. Of course no one can better care for your children than you can, but when you put your precious little person, the little life you created, your whole entire world in the hands of someone else, you EXPECT them to at least try to live up to your standards. Anyway, back to why I am asking for a little help. I want to provide a place for little people to learn, and play and grow, and parents won't go bankrupt trying to do it. I want to provide a place for parents to bring their children that I tried so hard to find when I needed it! My children are still small and I can't afford daycare or summer camps because I am low income but make too much to qualify for assistance. I would love the opportunity to help build the minds of little people, when they are small their brains are like little sponges, they absorb so much and can learn so much! I have a huge basement that I would love to transform into a little class room of wonder and excitement. So maybe you can find it in your heart help me help the single mothers/fathers that want their children to learn in a safe and caring place. Please help me create "Making differences" (still working on the name) Thank you Shannon
