Despite the rapidly growing number of immigrants and multi-cultural families in South Korea, this population is not well-accommodated in the country. Because South Korea has long been a racially homogeneous for the past decades, not much policies nor awareness for the immigrant population are developed. Though the country is known for high education level and low literacy rate, such statistics do not represent the immigrants population. Among many difficulties they suffer - discrimination at work, economic difficulties, education services, medical care - 44.6% of the immigrant population selected language barrier as the biggest hardship that challenges them in every aspect of their lives. Due to the lack of awareness for the students from the multicultural family in South Korea, not much subsidy nor facilities is allocated to support their language education. In an effort to improve the language education environment of the immigrant population, our team developed a mobile game that helps the user to learn Korean words. The mobile game is free and any profit generated from the mobile game will be donated to the support center for multicultural family. Our game is at the final stage of development , the design of UI/UX and the algorithm parts are completed; however, considerable part of the ios application is yet finished. The game also needs a reliable server space, as the application gains users. Our team contacted multiples of mobile application development company and received a quota amounting to $14,000 for the full mobile application development, data security, and server space. As we are a team of college student developers, this price is beyond what our budget can cover. Please help us to continue developing language education service for the most underrepresented population in South Korea.
