Education for My Student
Organized by: janet isabel urrea
I worked at a public high school as a tutor/mentor and was able to meet intelligent and aspiring young adults. One particular student meant a lot to me because of the appreciation she showed towards all the her teachers and the education offered to her. She knew she would have been deprived of such high quality education in her home country Costa Rica. Despite her amazing grades and living in the US since she was 5, she was denied opportunities to scholarships, grants, and federal loans. I have just graduated with a bachelor's degree and am paying my own undergraduate loans and trying to pay for my student's education. I ask that you help me help her, because she has earned the right to a higher education and a better quality of life.
Some info on my student:
She has chosen to go to St Pete College located in Clearwater, Florida for archectiture/construction planning.
Graduated with honors from her high school.
Plans on graduating with an associate's degree to then transfer to Florida International University for a construction management degree.
