education or economic empowerment

Hi! I am Kathy Rhambo, Life Coach working in collaboration with Sothawaca-Benin City www.sothawaca.org; www.sothawaca.blogspot.com for the purposes of continuing the Education and Economic Empowerment of Teen Mothers of Benin city, Nigeria. Working with at risk youth, or teen mothers is, and has been, a passion of mine for some time now. In 2000, I worked with teen mothers in a non-profit shelter setting. Later, in 2005, I became a Life Coach, creating curriculums and programs for at risk/truant youth, to meet and therefore, overcome obstacles that may have stood in the way of them receiving their basic education. In the rural areas of Owan East and Owan West, Local Government Areas of Edo State, many young teenage women have had their schooling truncated due to their new responsibilities of motherhood, and the need to get back into the classroom, to continue their education. Through your monetary support, we can assist these less economically empowered children by taking up the responsibility to ensure that their school requirements are adequately taken care of. This would make all the difference between a child remaining in school and dropping out of school due to poverty. As well, your donations would assist in keeping another child at home instead of in an orphanage because their parents are unable to work or find a meaningful source of livelihood. With education, we know that such a child is one step away from poverty. Our targeted children would be able to obtain the desired education that would be beneficial to the improvement of their long-term prospects - supporting their families in future. $3,000.00 which is an equivalent of N750,000.00 (Nigerian Currency) will assist in getting vulnerable young mothers back to school and empowering their families.
