Mozilla Firefox is donating $50,000 to the charity that raises the most money and I want to win that money for MWCT. Please help me get there.
The Maasai Wilderness Conservation Trust is a fantastic organization that, to me, represents the cutting edge of the effort we need to all make to bring human needs and environmental sustainability into harmony with each other.
MWCT works to protect the legendary ecosystems and astounding wildlife of East Africa through conservation programs that directly benefit local Maasai communities....and what I love about MWCT and think makes it really important is that they're showing that it doesn't have to be Nature vs People anymore.
I can see why people would say, “Why work on something so far from home in such an exotic and remote place?” or “What do the Maasai people and African wildlife and wilderness have to do with our lives and our challenges?”
My answer is that every day we learn more about how interconnected the natural systems on the planet are and recognize even more clearly that we all rely on healthy ecosystems to support our lives...even ones that are far away from where we live. Figuring out how poor people in developing countries can thrive and grow without destroying some of the world's most important natural resources is going to be one of the great challenges of the 21st Century.
You can read in detail about everything the Maasai Wilderness Conservation Trust does just by clicking here.
I think this is our generation's greatest challenge...I really do. And I believe that supporting this effort will tune you in to the details of how that challenge is going to actually be met.
Please Donate and click on the Create A Fundraising Page button to help me fundraise and win the Mozilla Firefox Challenge for this amazing organization.
Thanks so much,
