Hello Friends & Family!
This school year is quickly coming to an end and glorious summer is fast approaching. Many of you already know that I’m preparing to go to East Germany for part of the summer to spread the Gospel by teaching conversational English. I will be joining Kye and Taylor, friends from Oklahoma State University, for 2 months in the city of Chemnitz where we will partner with the local church, the Gemeinde Christi “Community of Christ” congregation to reach out to people there. As a team we will go into the community to meet people of all ages and spend time offering free conversational English practice by studying the Bible one-on-one with them. Kye and Taylor have had the opportunity to go the past 3 years and have worked hard to establish strong relationships there; I’m so thankful for this opportunity to join their team!
When I listen to Kye and Taylor talk about their previous time in Chemnitz, the verse Luke 10:2 comes to mind, “The harvest is abundant, but the workers are few. Therefore, pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest.” The people of Chemnitz formerly lived under Soviet rule. Communism meant they were not allowed to openly practice religion of any kind; people were discouraged from making their own decisions about faith or developing their own opinions. The younger generations there are the first to be able to make their own decisions about faith. This is why Kye and Taylor continue to return to Chemnitz and why the need is so great. Prayer, is a great & powerful tool, and I ask that over the course of this summer you would be praying for:
(1) Kye, Taylor and I to be a light and a blessing as we share God’s story,
(2) For the Gemeinde Christi church we will be partnering with and
(3) Especially for the people there that they would be encouraged to seek the Lord and make decisions about their faith
Thank you so much for your prayers and support!
