Edgerley-Franklin Spring Break Service Trip
Team Member: Navanté Peacock
EVENT DATE Mar 14, 2015
As you may know, I am in my second year at Kansas State University studying Anthropology, Psychology, and Japanese. I am also an Edgerley-Franklin Urban Leader. This group allows me to share my thirst for knowledge with others, as well as helping others through service trips. This service trip to Boston to work with the Boys and Girls Club will be a very rewarding experience for me, and I thank you for helping us get there.

The Edgerley-Franklin Urban Leadership group is supported by both the Edgerley and Franklin families to promote future engagement with the challenges facing urban communities and families. The Urban Leadership Scholars Program seeks to shape the next generation of great American urban leaders. As Urban Leadership Scholars we have the knowledge to make sound judgments, the character to flourish under the pressures of leadership, and the vision to bring new solutions to our nation's most pressing urban needs. We influence and inspire future generations to value education, hard work, and achieve academic and career success.
Over Spring break we will be traveling to Boston, Massachusetts for an educational, service trip focusing on the importance of youth development in urban communities. This trip will allow us to actively engage with a community in need and live out our mission of service as we work with the Boys & Girls Club of Boston. We will have the opportunity to interact directly with youth as mentors and tutors providing career guidance and college preparation support. In addition, we will have the opportunity to learn about the operations of one of the most successful Boys & Girls Clubs in the country and the impact such programs have on urban youth. Your financial contribution for this trip will help us share this priceless experience. Thank you very much for your consideration!
