Sponsor An Orphans This Eid
Organized by: Rubaiya Khan
When you’re a child the joy of Eid is to wake up, shower, and put on brand new clothes. Celebrate the joyous occasion by running around getting complimented on your new attire and enjoying other gifts such as money, toys & sweets.
In an ideal world this would be the scenario for every child in the world but there are plenty who barely have enough garment on their back to even step into a mosque. They don't have families to love them let alone people to treat them with love.
We grew up with so many luxuries and blessings and continue to have them in our lives even as adults. Eid is treated as an event to shop till me drop for our families and show case our trendy new clothes and accessories.
Let’s change the scenario around a little this Eid. This year why not share this experience with an orphan who barely has a good set of garments for daily use.
With your contribution of $25 you would be sponsoring a child in need of clothes, to a new attire for Eid.
For girls this would include a dress, trousers, and slip on sandals.
For boys this would include a shirt/panjabi, trousers, and slip on sandals.
Never will you attain the good [reward] until you spend [in the way of Allah] from that which you love. And whatever you spend - indeed, Allah is Knowing of it. The Quran 3:92
One of the gates Allah swt has opened to His salves to gain immense rewards during Ramadan is through sadaqa, giving charity. Allah swt commands us to give from what we love. So let’s make an initiative to spend on someone in need rather than the extra outfit we will wear once.
The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “The one who cares for an orphan and myself will be together in Paradise like this,” and he held his two fingers together to illustrate.
