The Educators' Institute for Human Rights (EIHR) provides on the ground teacher training in countries recovering from genocide or mass conflict. A vital step in recovery from mass violence is education and reconciliation. Unfortunately, the teachers tasked with this often lack the support and training to teach students about these sensitive topics. EIHR fills this deficit by providing specialized training and support in human rights and genocide prevention. It is our goal to provide every teacher with the training and tools they need to share these lessons with their students, creating watchdogs for humanity throughout their communities, and working towards a more tolerant and peaceful future together.
EIHR currently offers summits, teacher trainings, and ongoing educational support in Rwanda and Bosnia, and we are expanding into additional places facing a legacy of violence. Your contribution will equip hard working educators with an advanced skill set which they can share with hundreds or thousands of students in their lifetime.
EIHR is a registered 501c(3) not-for-profit. We receive support from the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, Aegis Trust, Kigali Genocide Memorial, embassies, foundations, and likeminded not for profit organizations. All donations are tax deductible and go directly to programs. No gift is too small.
