BENEFITING: Water For People
EVENT DATE: Sep 30, 2012
Women and girls in developing countries haul water for an average of 4 hours a day. With your help, Water For People wants to make that Time Well Spent. We need to raise $1 Million to match another $1 Million already pledged by amazing donors. So every donation has Double The Impact.
How much is 4 hours worth to you? What would you have to give up if you lost 4 hours a day? If your time is worth $10/hour (ok, I'm sure that's a way under-estimation for many of my talented friends!), then can you give $40 to help women and girls get their time back for living, learning and working?
I work at Water For People because I 100% believe in the work we do. My job is to communicate and promote our programs - and except for the sleepless nights - I couldn't ask for a better way to spend my days. When I travel to the field to see our work, it is so apparent that we are helping to build relationships and systems that are going to lift people out of poverty and make a huge change in their futures. Water For People just starts the ball heading in the right direction and lets it catch momentum with the power of the communities and partners clearing the way. If people have water & no one ever knows Water For People was there - every hour and every dollar I've donated will be the best investment of my life.
If you can help this year during our Time Well Spent $2 Million Challenge, I will make you a batch of your favorite cookies (as long as it's chocolate chip, peanut butter, or snickerdoodle). You know I don't cook, so this is a big deal. I'll have Matt and Lola oversee so that they are good... and so that I know how to turn the oven on.
Oh yeah, my birthday is Sept. 7. So this is good timing for a birthday campaign.
