"There is such a need in downstate Illinois, there isn't a place for those with autism to go — most have to go to St. Louis to get services. With the Autism Center, families have an opportunity to get help." -Gail Richard, chairwoman for the Communication Disorders and Sciences Department at Eastern Illinois University
On April 25th, I will be runnig the Illinois Half Marathon to raise funding for and awareness of the Eastern Illinois University Autism Center. Prior to returning to grad school, I worked in Autism research at Purdue and though I no longer work directly with children who are diagnosed with Autism, I am continuing to advocate for them by supporting the formation of an integrated research center and clinic in southern Illinois.
Donor support of the Autism Center will go directly toward providing the necessary personnel and resources to meet evaluation and consultation needs. Thank you so much for your support!
