BENEFITING: NORTHBROOK CHURCH
I hope this letter finds you content and happy. Many of you probably haven't heard from me in a while. I have recently been making new friends here in Hartford, I am currently finishing my 4th grade school year and I'm looking forward to turning 11 in September, and later this year going on my first missions trip. That's actually exactly what this letter is about. In late fall of this year, I will be going to Brazil with my Dad.
I'm really excited about this trip because I will be spending time with kids around my age that live in an orphanage and I will have the opportunity to talk with them about Jesus. I am spending my summer organizing the lessons I will be teaching them and also learning some of their language, which is Portuguese. Hopefully this will prepare me for the teaching I will be doing with the kids and also so I can help my Dad while he trains children's ministry leaders in the area.
While we are there, we will be staying with Mr. James and Mrs. Elsie Gilbert, missionaries supported from my home church, Northbrook. I am hoping to bring some fun things for their kids to play with as well.
I am very excited and I am hoping that you are excited for me, because I need your help. Please pray for this trip, for Mr. James and Mrs. Elsie Gilbert and their children, the kids at the orphanage, all the people we will get to see and talk to during this trip and my Dad and I while we travel. Also, pray that the expense of this trip would be taken care of. I am having a garage sale, mowing lawns and doing odd jobs for friends and family this summer to try to earn some of the trip cost, but that will not cover all of it. It is very expensive (about $2,500). If you would like to give to my trip, there is a self addressed envelope enclosed. Any amount would be appreciated. All donations are tax deductible.
Thank you for reading my whole letter, for your prayers and for your financial consideration. I really do appreciate it.
