BENEFITING: Nomi Network
EVENT DATE: Oct 11, 2014
Last year, for my 24th birthday, you helped me raise $3000 to support Nomi Network, a non-profit organization that provides survivors and at-risk women of human trafficking the economic opportunities they need to become financially independent of their abusers. I was incredibly surprised and overjoyed by your support for this organization that is so close to my heart. Will you again consider helping me redirect attention over my 25th birthday towards something more important?
Recently, the 10-year-old daughter of Guria, one of Nomi's most promising trainees went missing and was later found brutally murdered in their hometown of Bihar, India. There is strong evidence of foul play and rape. The Nomi community all over the world is reaching out to support Guria during this unbearably difficult time. One girl is too many.
So instead of gifts or a plethora of happy birthday wishes on my Facebook wall, would you instead be willing to help me celebrate my life by donating to Nomi Network, as they seek to give life to their women in Cambodia and India? In doing so, you are allowing women such as Guria a chance to experience freedom in a way she never could have imagined - the freedom we take for granted every day.
Lots of love and heartfelt gratitude for supporting Nomi and for supporting me,
