Running is my therapy. It's my "alone time." The love and passion I have for running has led me to my marathon addiction. This will be my 8th marathon. I have never done the same one twice, and get so excited to see what adventures the next city brings me. I have ran for charities in the past, and did the Boston in 2012 for the Elixir Fund. This organization is dear to my heart, not only because the person running it is the most caring woman ever, but because it has to do with cancer- And helping people who are battling this horrible disease.
I just lost my dad in January. He was the funniest man I have ever known, with the most fight I have ever seen in someone. His love for his family, his grandkids was the best thing a daughter can ever witness. I was (and still am) his little girl... his best friend.. and his biggest fan. Before he passed away I got the priveledge to tell him I was running this race for him. He lit up and smiled. This will be the most beautiful, emotional race I have (and will ever) ever ran. This race is for you dad. I will never stop making you proud. FUCK YOU CANCER.

The Elixir Fund is an organization dedicated to improving the comfort and care of cancer patients and their caregivers. Through the Elixir Fund Registry, we harness the power of community to provide direct and meaningful support to meet the long or short-term care needs of those impacted by cancer or other chronic illness. We are pilot testing the Elixir Fund Registry in New Jersey, but plan to scale this up to a national program. Funds raised by TEAM ELIXIR will help us to do just that.
