The Louisiana Chapter of the…
The Louisiana Chapter of the National Lawyers Guild sends a heartfelt thank you to YOU and all who supported the movement for justice in Baton Rouge and beyond by contributing to the bail fund for the peaceful protesters unlawfully arrested in Baton Rouge. Because of your generosity, all who were arrested were promptly bailed out. The NLG has also coordinated criminal defense attorneys for each arrestee, continues to operate a 24/7 legal hotline, provide legal observers at every protest or rally, provide Know Your Rights and Realities trainings, assist with civil law suits, and provide advisory support to the community organizers to create longer-term systemic change. This bail fund continues to be carefully and ethically managed and operated by a board of attorneys, organizers, and directly-impacted people to provide ongoing support to the movement. Thank you again for your generosity, thoughtfulness, and support.
With deep gratitude and continuing in the struggle for justice,
Sister Alison McCrary, President on behalf of the board and all members of the

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YO…
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!
I wanted to thank all of you that have donated so far!! This initial money serves to encourage others to raise more money for this cause.
Here is an update of where the funds have gone and the current situation as we understand it.
$250 = Going to "Mujeres de Asfalto/ Women of Asphalt" this is a grassroot organization that identified poor black women in Esmeraldas that do informal work. This money will serve these women to purchase items to restart their businesses (one of the most common ways to make money there is sell street food) and will help to keep sustainable relationships.
$600= This money was used to purchase water and medicines to be delivered to the affected areas, however there was problems trying to get resources to the affected areas because the military was rerouting resources to go the bigger cities. In order to not let the resources we have collected from you be misdirected towards non-marginalized communities, we have sent a small shipment of these resources first to a central location and Bahia and will start distributing as soon as possible while we establish more secure and direct routes to the affected areas.
STATUS OF IDENTIFIED AREAS:
Don Juan: We have located the lgbtqai community in Don Juan, they are mostly in shelters, they have first needs, food and water, the needs are not immediate but we are in the process of identifying the number of chronic illnesses and illnesses for what mainstream support might not have drugs for. No org local to the area identified yet, working on this. We are also working on getting gasoline to Don Juan because some folks have cars there but no gas, and they could use the gas to fetch resources from other areas.
Bahia: We have lgbtqia friends that are working on getting all information possible regarding the lgbtqia community. 50 gallons of water, sanitary pads, medicines and other items are currently there, they arrived last night and we will start distributing as soon as possible.
Calceta: We have lost contact with Calceta for now because our point of contact went to Don Juan to help, we are restablishing contact and will update you. The latest news is that the region was relatively ok.

More to come, reach to me if you have any questions or wanna do an accountability check! (I have internal documentation of where the funds have gone and all that good stuff).
