On October 17th I am running the Toronto half-marathon in memory of my dad, John Ingham. Six years ago, after a long and courageous battle, my dad passed away from pancreatic cancer. Since then, running has become a hobby for me, and I want to use this passion to help raise money for others that have been affected by this disease. This is what led me to join Project Purple.
So what exactly is Project Purple? Project Purple is a Connecticut based non-profit organization that has people like me running all over the country in various marathons raising awareness and funds for pancreatic cancer. Pancreatic cancer is the 4th most deadly cancer, yet receives the least funding of the Top 10 cancers. It is also the only cancer of the Top 10 to have just a single digit survival rate after 5 years.
How can you help? Please make a donation to Project Purple, online or by check. ***** Remember, all donations are tax deductible and companies may have a matching program!
Every donation means the world to me and I thank you in advance for any contribution you can make. Too many people have lost loved ones to this disease You can help change that by supporting Project Purple and donating toward a cure for pancreatic cancer.
