THE STORY:
This is our second year jumping. Virginia Polar Dip sponsored our family at Camp Sunshine in 2010.
Our little girl Eliza, who is three, has Diamond Blackfan Anemia (DBA), an extremely rare incurable bone marrow failure syndrome which requires monthly blood transfusions. DBA is so rare that most doctors have never heard of it, and most hematologists have never dealt with it.
During our week at Camp, doctors from around the country/world present the latest treatment plans and research. For our children and for us, Camp Sunshine is where we learned to be fighters, to have hope, to reach out to others in need, and to never give up.
Thank you Virginia Polar Dip and Camp Sunshine for giving us love, inspiration, and a fighting chance!
