For over a decade Ellicott Wildlife Rehabilitation Center has provided the community with a safe place to bring sick and injured wild animals for emergency care.
Our vision is to create a sustainable, scalable model for wildlife rehabilitation which offers an educational resource as well as a safe haven for these wonderful creatures. The need for such a model is great - and not just here in Colorado. Our state does not offer a government funded or staffed wildlife rehabilitation center.
Your support will be instrumental in helping us maintain and grow. We are not a large group and though the work is wonderfully rewarding, it can be is extremely demanding emotionally and physically. There are no vacation days in animal rehab. Roughly 90% of rehabbers drop out within the first year, which is one of the reasons we are so proud to have been around for so long. We think we’re on to something here - now we just need help to realize the vision.
Our wildlife is a precious resource, not only for the biodiversity they provide, but the connection with nature they create in people both young and old. Despite all the hardships, there is nothing like sending a tiny cottontail or burrowing owl or red fox back into the wild, healthy and full of life. We want you to be a part of this experience and will be increasing our publishing so every donor can see the results of their assistance.
Ellicott Wildlife Rehabilitation Center is a certified IRS 501c3 non-profit. We are a State and federally licensed organization that works closely local veterinarians, government agencies, schools and community organizations. Your donation is tax deductible.
