BENEFITING: The Ellie Fund
ORGANIZER: The Ellie Fund
EVENT: 2015 Boston Marathon
EVENT DATE: Apr 20, 2015
Personal Goal: $10,000
I am excited and honored to announce that I will be running the 2015 Boston Marathon in support of the Ellie Fund! With every step that I take (and there will be a lot), I will be thinking about the women, men and families that are affected by breast cancer. I have known and have been involved with the Ellie Fund over the last six years to support my wife Hillary, the Director of Special Events at the Ellie Fund, and the other employees and volunteers of Ellie Fund in their quest to fight breast cancer.
The services that the Ellie Fund provides include:
- transportation to medical appointments
- Groceries and prepared and delivered healthy meals.
I will be running with my close friend Chris Doney as we join the John Hancock Non-Profit Program. Founded in 1995, the Ellie Fund looks forward to celebrating its 20th year with the same event that ignited the Ellie Fund’s fundraising efforts.
Please consider supporting me on my personal goal to raise $10,000 to help change the lives of the women, men and children that line the marathon route each year.
Thank you for your support and kind generosity!
More about the Ellie Fund:
The Ellie Fund was founded in 1995 by Jeff and Eliot Popkin to honor their mother Eleanor’s courageous battle against breast cancer and the giving spirit for which she was known throughout her life. The Ellie Fund fights breast cancer by easing its effect on woman, men and families across Massachusetts.
A breast cancer diagnosis means physical, emotional and financial stress, not only for the patient, but the entire family. We provide a strong support system to help alleviate the effects of breast cancer and allow the patient, and their family, to focus on what matters – healing.
Thank you for the support!
