Stuff About Me:

Dear friends,

After last year's tragedy that interrupted me from crossing the finish line, I have been waiting all year to come back to finish the last mile.  I remember when I picked up my finisher's medal a couple of days later, the lady who handed it to me asked if I wanted it around my neck.  I paused for a second, gave her a look, and said, "no no, not until I cross the finish line next year."  I am eager and very happy to have the opportunity to run Boston again this year.

This is my third try in Boston over all.  But it will be my first ever to represent the United States of America.  I am more proud than ever.  Though my training was set back a little this year due to injuries.  As a result, I have less time to prepare and build up the endurance and hence my training this year is more concentrated than before.  Hopefully my body will be strong enough to adjust to the rapid strain.

I am dedicating this year's run to my good friends' son, Kyle, who was unfortunately born blind with severe global developmental delay.  The hardship did not, however, stop as he was diagnosed with leukemia about 3 years ago that almost took his life.  Thanks to his indestructibly strong will to live and the help of a couple of outstanding organizations, Kyle is still living strong and standing up to adversity.  He will celebrate his 11th birthday this March 29th.  I would like to salute to Kyle for his resilient will to live and for being a role model for many of us whiners.

I would also like to give a big shout out to these two awesome organizations and help Kyle give them back:

Perkins School for the Blind (www.perkins.org) provides education to individuals who are blind and visually impaired and empower them to lead proud, productive and meaningful lives.  Through Perkins, Kyle learned basic survival skills such as walking and eating independently that we often take it for granted.  To donate to Perkins, please visit

Dana-Farber Cancer Institute / The Jimmy Fund (www.dana-farber.org), thanks to its advance research, helped Kyle survive cancer through numerous treatments and chemo cycles.  Kyle is the bravest and strongest kid I've met.  I am hoping this charitable support will have an impact on creating a better live for those who need it.  To donate to Jimmy, please visit

The marathon day is on 4/21/2014 this year.  See you all at the finish line.  Thank you for your support.
