We're rallying to support Owen, a certain 4 year old gifted with perseverence and resiliency, as he approaches his operation to remove his brain tumor.
As many of you know, Owen has had a long journey his 4 short years of life. When he was born, he was diagnosed with Hydrocephalus and Dandy Walker, essentially informing us that he will have developmental delays, but to what extent, we wouldn't know. Over the next 3 years, Owen endured 8 major surgeries - specifically, 4 brain surgeries, 1 open heart surgery, 2 GI/Abdomen surgeries, and 1 spinal surgery. This past January, Owen was diagnosed with a brain tumor, requiring a 9th operation. After all that he has been through, this one has been the toughest to process. It's been a pretty tough road for Owen and his family and it's hard to watch them have to navigate so much.
Despite these challenges, Owen is a total champ - facing challenges one day at a time and powering through. Of course, his journey hasn't been easy; physically, emotionally, or financially. This operation alone will incur thousands of dollars of out-of-pocket medical expenses. As part of Megan and Brent’s community, I want to help. Help us rally to show our support, remind them that they aren't alone, and that they are part of something larger than just the two of them.
Owen has been an amazing catalyst for inspiration and connection. Please join us as we embrace Owen and his family, and help them feel the support of community. You can participate by giving a donation, joining one of our events, or sharing this with others in your community.
On behalf of Owen, his family, and all those people who have helped expand our hearts, even when theirs were not strong, thank you so much!
