On any given night, nearly 50,000 veterans are living on the streets in the U.S. Here in Central Florida, we have committed as a community to end this injustice, once and for all. In the month of July, the Central Florida Commission on Homelessness lead a Veterans Surge, with the goal of going out across the region and finding every homeless Veteran and start the process of getting them into housing. With the help of over 300 dedicated volunteers, we were able to do just that.
Now our job is to finish this critical mission. Your financial support helps the Commission take these brave women and men off the streets and provide them with the stability they deserve. To be successful, we need the resources to provide a temporary place to sleep as they await housing, food, transportation, and emergency services. By making a financial commitment today, you can aid a homeless Veteran in their quest to find the safety and security of their own home. A homeless lifestyle of hunger, desperation and hopelessness for our Veterans is simply not acceptable!
