BENEFITING: Imerman Angels
Emily and I decided to run the 2017 Chicago Marathon and in doing so, we wanted to raise money for charity. We decided to raise money for both Imerman Angels and The Semper Fi Fund.
Imerman Angels is a non-profit cancer organization that pairs newly diagnosed cancer patients with those who have gone through the same types of cancer and are now able to offer their support as well as advice along the path to recovery. Almost every family is affected by cancer in America and Imerman is a Chicago organization so it only seemed right to help them!
We also chose The Semper Fi Fund which is an organization that helps both financially and in other aspects to disabled and medically retired veterans. As a medically retired, combat-disabled veteran, this organization has been a life saver for myself. In late 2016 The Semper Fi Fund purchased a German Shepard (Loki) for me. Loki is now 8 months old and has JUST started service training. Along the way, Semper Fi Fund has donated almost 80% of the cost of both the puppy and the training as well as helping cover medical expenses for Loki and providing us periodic gift cards for dog food and other supplies. I personally have other friends who served with me who have received other types of assistance and organizations like this are truly livesaving.

Whether you choose to donate to one or the other is up to you but any and all support and donations are greatly appreciated. Know that whichever one you choose, is doing great things and both are helping their prospective communities in incredible ways.
Thank you in advance and we appreciate all of you!
