THE STORY:
As a nonprofit organization that works endlessly to end prostate cancer, ZERO-The End of Prostate Cancer holds a very special place in my heart. In 2006, my grandfather was unexpectedly diagnosed with Prostate cancer. The news was hard to comprehend for him and all of us who love him dearly. Thankfully, he has overcome his challenges and continues to live a healthy and active life. However, this could not be done without the help of organizations such as ZERO.
Prostate cancer is the second leading cause of male cancer death, killing a man every 18 minutes. Yet, there is hope: 99 percent survive when it's caught early. ZERO utilizes all their fundraising efforts to advance research, offer support and education to patients and families, and encourage people to be proactive regarding their diagnosis.
The proceeds raised by the ZERO Prostate Cancer Endurance Team will support ZERO —The End of Prostate Cancer and its mission to end prostate cancer through awareness, outreach, advocacy and research.
So please join Nina Copponi and I in our journey towards achieving our personal goals of completing the The New York City Marathon, in addition to supporting such a great organization. On November 6th, we will be running with approximately 48,000 athletes who take on the challenging course while supporting a vast variety of charities. We want all of you to help us, help make a life changing difference to patients and their families.
